Athalia Solis is a first generation Latina college graduate from the University of California, Merced with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Having begun her academic career at Rio Hondo College, she discovered her passion for engineering after accidentally taking a hand drafting class for engineering. After receiving three associates degrees and an architectural drafting certificate, Athalia transferred to UC Merced. At UC Merced Athalia was exposed to various disciplines of engineering through her coursework, research, internships and Award Winning Senior Project. Her work includes solar thermal energy, photovoltaic energy, materials, strengths, waste handling, and electrical engineering. She has been recognized for her hard work, leadership and expertise having received the Entrepreneur in Training Scholarship Award, Scholarship to Aid Rio STEM Student Recipient (STARR), and Innovate to Grow – Top Finisher. Moving forward, Athalia is looking to apply her passion of learning towards designing solutions for complex engineering problems. Striving to grow and demonstrate her abilities, Athalia is working towards obtaining her Engineering in Training. In addition, she would ultimately like to earn a Master's Degree in a specialized field of engineering.

Athalia Solis is a first generation Latina college graduate from the University of California, Merced with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am an architectural designer with a strong foundation in technical innovation, sustainability, and design. My professional journey spans over six years, where I’ve honed my skills in residential and retail construction drawing, as well as as-built measurement and Revit modeling. I’ve held positions ranging from a Junior Drafter to a Job Captain, working with reputable drafting company services as well as firms like, SATO Architects Inc., and Nadel Architects, Inc. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, which is complemented by specialized training in computer-aided design and international experience through a summer program at North China University of Technology. I am proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, with extensive experience in construction drawing, design, and fieldwork. My goal is to apply my knowledge and skills to create functional and aesthetically pleasing designs while continually learning and growing in the field of architecture.
