My name is Patrick Chege, am an experienced Structural Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the civil engineering industry. I am passionate about architecture and structural engineering. Self-driven, time conscious and an excellent team player are some of my core virtues. Working as a freelancer is our new normal during this period where social distancing is paramount. It is a practice that I have come to love, given the flexibility, the diverseness that comes with it and that it pays well for the professional services offered. I am Skilled in the design of structural concrete, timber, and steel in both the BS standards and Euro-codes, with over three years of working experience both in the office and on the construction site. I use Prokon, Masterseries and Autodesk Robot to do the analysis of the structure. I use AutoCAD for drafting and detailing. The structural drawings for buildings will usually include, foundation layouts, foundation reinforcement details, floor and beam layouts, floor and beam reinforcement detail, staircase reinforcement detail, column reinforcement detail and roof layouts and reinforcement detail. Apart from structural design i can also do an electrical plan layouts. I believe in reducing our carbon emissions and safeguarding our environment and thus will usually employ passive strategies to reduce dependency on non-renewable energy. I also do architectural design. I do my design using ArchiCAD and Sketchup. The designs will usually include site layouts, floor plans, elevations, a minimum of two sections, an external plumbing plan for both storm water and grey water, and an on-site greywater treatment facility (on request). Apart from the 2D drawings I also do renders of the design in Lumion and Twin Motion and produce render images and a video walkthrough of the project.
