About the job
- Please design a pair of custom surface-mount 3D-printable tweeter pods tailored for the Morel CAT 298 to be mounted on the lower A-pillars of a Volkswagen Polo 6R.
- The design must include the following precise specifications and features:
--Outer faceplate diameter of 104 mm,
--internal recess cutout/mounting diameter of 72 mm,
--total internal depth clearance of at least 27 mm for the ferrite magnet structure.
(please see the attached measurement file for the tweeter)
- Surface-mount pod (cup style) that sits entirely on top of the flat face of the factory plastic A-pillar trim, rather than flushing inside it.
- Include a solid, flat mounting foot or base with an integrated rear-bolt hole (screw-from-behind design) so a machine screw can pass from the back of the factory plastic pillar trim into the pod for a secure, heavy-duty mechanical lock.
- Design the pods with directional angling (on-axis firing)—the driver-side pod must be angled to face the driver's left ear, and the passenger-side pod must be angled to face the driver's right ear. Provide smooth transitions and clean outer walls suitable for automotive-grade vinyl wrapping or painting.
- Please design an integrated, high-airflow plastic honeycomb mesh or protective cross-bars over the front opening of the pod. This mesh must sit at least 3mm forward away from the center of the tweeter to fully clear the protruding soft dome peak, ensuring physical protection without touching the driver diaphragm.
