About the job
We are running a structured evaluation project for an AI assistant that generates SolidWorks CAD outputs from natural-language prompts. We are looking for experienced mechanical / CAD engineers to work through a defined set of exercises, judge the assistant's outputs, and log detailed results in a tracker.
This is hands-on evaluation work — not model development. Your judgment and written feedback directly shape how the assistant is improved.
Requirements
3+ years of hands-on SolidWorks experience in an industry setting (part modeling, assemblies, features) — hobbyist or coursework-only CAD experience is not sufficient.
Solid grasp of mechanical design fundamentals: dimensions, tolerances, features (fillets, chamfers, patterns, boolean ops), and geometry.
Formal knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14.5). You should be able to spot when an output violates manufacturability or tolerance conventions, not just when geometry is visually wrong.
Excellent written English. Your rejection reasons and comments become part of the evaluation dataset, so precision matters.
