I am a product developer based in Cincinnati, OH, seeking a qualified mechanical or product engineer to conduct a structured engineering review of a full-length orthotic insole designed specifically for patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).
The product is a novel diabetic foot relief insole incorporating:
A recessed metatarsal offloading channel designed to reduce peak plantar pressure at the metatarsal head region
A deep heel cup in standard and clinical depth configurations
Four graduated Shore A hardness zones across the insole length
A hexagonal antimicrobial perforation system
Variable infill density 3D-printed construction using a flexible thermoplastic elastomer, with a bio-based alternative also under consideration
A silver-ion antimicrobial textile upper layer
This is a pre-commercial product currently in the design phase. This engagement covers three deliverables: (1) a written engineering feasibility review; (2) a fully parametric 3D CAD model with STL export ready for 3D printing; and (3) a complete set of formal technical drawings generated from the CAD model. A complete Product Design Specification document (10 pages, including dimensional tables, material specifications, zone hardness targets, and manufacturing approach) will be shared under NDA prior to project commencement.
