About the job
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer / CAD Engineer to develop the production-ready 3D files and 2D technical blueprints for a consumer product called "Kele." This is a modular, flat-pack wardrobe/vanity storage organizer designed explicitly for heavy, multi-layered African headwear (Geles), sashes, and jewelry.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in plastic injection molding design, draft angles, uniform wall thicknesses, and high-tolerance mechanical snap-fit joints.
Project Scope & Component Breakdown:
The final product will be manufactured via a multi-cavity ABS plastic injection mold. The designer will create a modular, flat-pack assembly consisting of:
1. Weighted Base: An inverted-T or tripod vanity kickstand base with a female interlocking receiver.
2. Central Spine Segments (x3): Vertical load-bearing cylindrical columns that stack sequentially using heavy-duty cylindrical snap-fits.
3. Skeletal Dome Arches (x3): Identical, lightweight open-rib curved
4. Hanger Bar (x1): A wide horizontal bar with curved downward wings …
