18/8 is a contemporary Indian design brand creating timeless objects and furniture in stainless steel. We are looking for a freelance designer to help translate concepts into production-ready products.
What you'll do
- Convert sketches and concepts into accurate 3D CAD models.
- Create manufacturing drawings with dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare part drawings and assembly drawings.
- Develop production-ready documentation for fabricators.
- Suggest practical manufacturing improvements while maintaining the design intent.
- Produce high-quality renders for presentations and marketing.
- Work closely with the founder through an iterative design process.
Skills we're looking for:
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360 or similar CAD software.
- Experience designing products or furniture for sheet metal fabrication.
- Understanding of laser cutting, bending, welding and stainless steel fabrication.
- Ability to think beyond CAD and solve manufacturing challenges.
- Good rendering skills (KeyShot, Blender, SolidWorks Visualize, etc.).
- Ability to deliver organised production files.
Nice to have:
- Experience with premium furniture or homeware brands.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design best practices.
- Portfolio featuring manufactured products.
