About the job
Who We Are
eSpecial Needs manufactures Spark Sensory Solutions - a line of sensory room products, furniture, softplay, and other products used in schools, therapy centers, and healthcare settings. Our products combine custom furniture, integrated LED lighting, and interactive controls to create therapeutic environments for individuals with autism, SPD, and anxiety. We design and fabricate in-house using CNC routers and are actively expanding our product line.
What We Need
We're looking for a hands-on Product/Industrial Engineer to help us revamp existing designs and co-develop new products. This is a collaborative role - you'll work directly with our founders, not just execute specs.
Skills We're Looking For
• CNC router programming and DFM-minded mechanical design
• Furniture construction - materials, joinery, hardware
• LED systems - drivers, dimming, RGB/RGBW color control
• PCB design and microcontroller programming (Arduino, ESP32, or similar) for remote/app-based controls
• Wireless protocols - Bluetooth, RF, Zigbee, or DMX
• SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAD - concept to full BOM
• Prototyping experience (3D printing, bench testing)
Bonus
• Familiarity with sensory room components — bubble tubes, fiber optics, interactive floors
• Experience designing for educational or healthcare environments
• Knowledge of ASTM, CPSC, or ADA compliance
How to Apply
Send us a brief proposal including:
• 3–5 portfolio examples of manufactured products...
