Mid-Senior 3D CAD Designers (2D to 3D Reconstruction) – Flexible Freelance Roster Anyone

About the Opportunity
We run a dynamic platform that connects clients needing 3D file reconstructions with top-tier CAD talent. We are currently looking to qualify and onboard up to 5 Senior CAD Designers to join our flexible, on-demand roster.

This role is designed to help us manage capacity peaks for medium-to-high complexity 2D technical drawings. Because of the complexity of these files, we require a high level of seniority, meticulous attention to detail, and a structured methodological process.

Location & Timezones
We welcome applicants from anywhere in the world. However, please note that the majority of our project requests arrive during European working hours. Additionally, you will need to occasionally coordinate with our management team, who operate across France (CEST) and Singapore (SGT) timezones.

Expected Volume & Workflow
While this is not a consistent, full-time position for all 5 designers, we anticipate a collective volume of 5 to 10 highly complex files per month. These files typically require multi-day reconstruction work. We are looking for responsive professionals who can jump in to handle these peaks.

The standard workflow for each project is as follows:

Notification: Receive an alert on our platform for a new available job.

Review: Evaluate the 2D drawing to ensure it meets acceptance guidelines before beginning.

Start: Download the drawing (this initiates the project timer).

Reconstruct: Complete the 3D reconstruction with precision.

Quality Check: Perform a thorough self-check for any errors or missing dimensions.

Submission: Upload the STEP and Native files to the platform (this stops the timer).

Final Review: The file goes through our internal QC before being submitted to the customer.

Compensation Structure
Because we are currently building data on expected timelines for varying file complexities, we are paying an hourly rate for the time being. Our target range is $10 to $35 USD per hour, depending on your experience, seniority, and location.
Note: In the future, this will likely transition to a flat per-drawing fee or a bidding system for our most complex multi-day projects.

Qualification Process (2-3 Weeks)
To ensure a mutual fit, all candidates will undergo a 2 to 3-week paid qualification process.

You will be assigned a variety of files with a capped budget over this period.

We will simulate realistic scenarios, meaning files may be assigned at various times throughout the week. Turnaround times will range from half a day to multiple days.

Payment Terms: You will be paid for the qualification process provided you meet the deadlines and show demonstrable progress. We define this "minimum completion" as at least 20 minutes of verifiable CAD effort per assigned part. Files that do not meet this baseline effort within the deadline will not be compensated.
