I need an experienced mechanical / manufacturing engineer to design a complete aluminum extrusion frame system for a gate.
Requirements:
The frame must be built entirely from aluminum extrusion profiles that can be screwed together (no welding).
Simple, clean, modern design with straight lines and angles only (no curves).
Strong and durable for outdoor gate use (wind load, gate weight, repeated opening/closing).
Easy assembly with standard fasteners (self-tapping screws, bolts, corner brackets, etc.).
Profiles should be optimized for aluminum extrusion: proper wall thickness, symmetry, corner radii, and good manufacturability.
Include connection details so multiple profiles join securely at 90° and other angles.
Deliverables:
3D model of the full frame system and individual extrusion profiles
2D manufacturing drawings (DWG + PDF) with dimensions and tolerances
Bill of Materials (BOM) listing suggested aluminum alloy (e.g. 6063 or 6061), suggested fasteners, and any hardware needed
Optional: exploded assembly views and simple assembly instructions
Project Scope:
This is for the structural frame only (not including infill panels, hinges, or latch). The design should be modular and scalable.
