About the job
I am looking for an experienced product/industrial designer to help develop a prototype for a children’s lift‑the‑flap book made from highly durable, tear‑resistant materials. The goal is to create a rip‑proof, chew‑proof, water‑resistant children’s book with interactive elements (lift‑the‑flap or simple pop‑up mechanisms) that can withstand heavy use by infants and toddlers.
Full design details will be shared after signing an NDA. Please confirm your willingness to sign an NDA in your proposal.
Scope of Work:
– Recommend child‑safe, ultra‑durable materials
– Engineer a flap or pop‑up mechanism that cannot be easily torn off
– Provide CAD files suitable for prototyping
– Provide manufacturing guidance and feasibility notes
– Iterate based on feedback
Ideal Experience:
– Children’s product design
– Paper engineering / pop‑up mechanisms
– Industrial design
– Knowledge of synthetic papers, Tyvek, or similar materials
Deliverables:
– CAD files (STEP/STL/etc.)
– Material recommendations
– Mechanism diagrams
