About the job
I am looking for an experienced industrial designer, product engineer, or hardware prototype designer to help develop a futuristic AI-powered smart cane called NEXUS CANE PRO.
This is a premium mobility and travel device designed for people with health conditions, mobility challenges, seniors, disabled travelers, and high-tech users who want more independence. The cane should look beautiful, futuristic, luxury-grade, and realistic, not like a basic hospital cane.
The concept includes a carbon fiber shaft, ergonomic smart grip, titanium or aluminum accents, glowing AI control ring, biometric sensor areas, pressure-sensing smart foot, anti-slip shock-absorbing base, emergency SOS button, haptic vibration feedback, speaker/microphone area, USB-C charging, internal battery space, and possible Bluetooth connection to a phone and smart glasses such as Oakley Meta AI glasses.
I need help turning the visual concept into a realistic product design that can eventually be prototyped. The first goal is to create professional design files and engineering-ready concept materials.
What I need:
1. Refined industrial design concept based on my reference images.
2. 3D CAD model of the smart cane.
3. Exploded-view design showing internal components and possible electronics placement.
4. Realistic product renderings for presentation, investor pitch, and manufacturer discussions.
5. Suggestions for materials, sensors, battery placement, handle design, cane tip design, and manufac...

4. Realistic product renderings for presentation, investor pitch, and manufacturer discussions.
5. Suggestions for materials, sensors, battery placement, handle design, cane tip design, and manufacturability.
6. Optional prototype guidance for 3D printing, CNC machining, carbon fiber tubing, electronics housing, and assembly.
Important design direction:
The cane should feel like Apple, Tesla, Oakley, and medical-grade aerospace engineering combined. It should be sleek, premium, futuristic, and buildable. I do not want a toy, fantasy weapon, hospital walker, or cheap plastic design. This needs to look like a real next-generation mobility product.
Core features to design around:
- AI activation button or AI control ring
- Ergonomic smart handle
- Carbon fiber shaft
- Pressure-sensing smart foot
- Anti-slip shock-absorbing base
- Emergency SOS button
- Haptic feedback motors in the handle
- Speaker and microphone grille
- USB-C magnetic charging port
- Modular battery compartment
- Biometric sensor strip or touch sensor zone
- Bluetooth / phone / smart-glasses sync concept
- LED status lighting, preferably cyan and subtle violet accents
Deliverables requested:
- 3D CAD file suitable for review and future prototyping
- STL or STEP file if possible
- High-quality product renders
- Exploded component view if available
- Basic design notes explaining materials and internal component layout
- Any recommendations for making the first physical prototype
I will provide reference images showing the current concept direction. I am open to expert suggestions, but I want the final design to stay premium, futuristic, and practical enough to build.
This is a one-time project to start, but if the designer is the right fit, I may continue with more prototype, manufacturing, and product development work.
