Hi! I'm hoping you can help with a small project.
I have 4 SVG files of brass backing plates that I need converted to STEP files for CNC machining quotes (Xometry or Protolabs). Each plate is a small, elongated hexagonal shape — sizes range from 3.5mm × 60mm up to 14.5mm × 110mm — in solid brass, 4mm thick.
Each plate has two features:
Front face: a through-cut keyhole or hex hole (already drawn in the SVG), plus a very light surface etch for a logo (~0.1mm depth)
Back face: a milled recess, 2-3mm deep, positioned directly behind the front keyhole — this gives a screw head somewhere to sit when the plate is mounted on a wall
Before I commit, a few questions:
Can you deliver final files in STEP format (not just the native SolidWorks / Fusion file)?
Are you comfortable modeling small precision parts like this, where tolerances matter?
What's your usual turnaround for 4 parts?
Total price for all 4 parts?
