About the job
We are seeking a skilled 3D costume designer to create some high-quality sample mascot costume designs for evaluation. Each design must be fully rendered in color 3D (using software such as Adobe Illustrator) and include detailed views of vision (through eyes or through mouth depending on the character) and internal performer fit. This is a paid sample project with potential for ongoing work.
The goal is to use beautiful designs like these for client approval, and then be able to use the same file for our cnc cutting process for specific parts.
Scope of Work (Per Sample Design):
Full 3D Color Model
production-ready 3D model of a complete mascot costume (head, body, hands, feet).
Photorealistic or stylized rendering (your choice, but consistent style).
Performer Silhouette Integration
Include a transparent human silhouette (5'11" / 180 cm tall, average build) inside the costume.
Show fit and clearance:
Head: 8–10 inches above performer’s head.
Shoulders: 4–6 inches padding on each side.
Torso: Room for movement, no compression.
Legs/arms: Full range of motion.
These are approximations, can vary based on designs.
Side, front, and 3/4 views with silhouette visible.
Some example images of potential characters we can turn into mascot costumes I generated are attached. Exact sample designs I am looking for TBD.
Open to compensation discussion, would like to pay per design for these sample designs and ideally receive a few.
