Description:
We’re seeking an experienced mechanical/HVAC design engineer to develop a complete heating, cooling, and ventilation system for a single-story, 4,000 sq ft veterinary clinic in Yelm, Washington.
The design should be minimalistic, value-engineered, and energy efficient, meeting Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) and City of Yelm building and mechanical code requirements.
Our goal is a clean, practical system that provides comfort, proper air changes, and reliable operation for staff, clients, and animals — while staying cost-effective to install and maintain.
Scope of Work:
Design a complete HVAC system (heating, cooling, ventilation)
Include zoning for specific clinic areas (exam rooms, treatment, surgery, kennel, lobby, and offices)
Ensure full code compliance with WSEC and City of Yelm standards
Provide equipment sizing, load calculations, duct layout, and system schematics
Focus on energy efficiency, serviceability, and cost control
Coordinate with architectural and electrical layouts
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Mechanical Engineer (Washington State PE preferred, but not required for preliminary design)
Experience in commercial or medical/veterinary facilities
Knowledge of Washington State Energy Code and local permitting
