CAD Designer & Drafter Ended

We are seeking a project-based freelance CAD Designer & Drafter to support the design and development of custom equipment, fixturing and tooling. This role is critical in helping us take concepts from ideas to fully engineered models and detailed drawings that can be fabricated and implemented on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

-Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and custom manufacturing equipment to support cable production
-Translate concepts into 3D models and 2D designs in SolidWorks
-Refine designs for manufacturability, assembly, and efficiency
-Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to ensure strength, reliability, safety, and ease of use in designs
-Maintain highly organized drawing files and revision control for all designs, models and drawings

Qualifications:

Senior level experience utilizing SolidWorks and CAD within machining and assembly manufacturing environments; specifically modeling tools, advanced part design, DFM, assembly tools and drawing/documentation.

Demonstrated success collaborating as a third party resource with corporate project teams within engineering and operations departments.

The following industry relevant experience is preferred:

-Electromechanical equipment (e.g. extruders, braiders, winding/wrapping machines)
-Machine automation and/or motion systems
-Cable/wire manufacturing industry experience

LOCATION: We are only accepting USA based contractors at this time.
