Project Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Designer to work on the design and development of desktop food machines, including food dispensers and related appliances. This is a freelance position, and the designer will collaborate remotely with our engineering team to create functional, manufacturable, and user-friendly products that cater to the food industry.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing dispensers, food machines, or related consumer products, with proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Fusion 360, and Onshape.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design & Conceptualization: Create innovative concepts for desktop food machines and dispensers, focusing on usability, safety, and efficient food handling.
CAD Modeling & Prototyping: Design 3D models and prototypes using SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Fusion 360, or Onshape. Ensure designs are manufacturable and comply with food industry standards.
Material & Component Selection: Advise on materials suitable for food-grade products, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards.
Collaboration & Iteration: Work with engineers to refine designs based on feedback and test prototypes to ensure performance meets functional requirements.
Manufacturing Support: Prepare detailed technical drawings and documentation for production, including assembly instructions, bill of materials (BOM), and specifications.

Ability to prototype and iterate designs quickly using 3D printing, CNC machining, or similar methods.
Strong attention to detail with an understanding of manufacturing processes, such as injection molding or sheet metal fabrication.
Preferred Experience:
Hands-on experience with desktop food machines, ingredient dispensers, or similar appliances.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and certifications for food-grade products.
Experience with sustainable design practices and material sourcing.
Experience with rapid prototyping and integrating user feedback into design improvements.
