1. Overview
The freelance drafter will be responsible for producing detailed architectural drawings for a housing project in California. The drafter must ensure that all drawings comply with California Building Code (CBC), International Building Code (IBC), and ADA accessibility standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed architectural drawings based on provided design concepts, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
• Prepare construction details, including but not limited to wall sections, door and window details, waterproofing details, stair handrails, and guardrails.
• Ensure all drawings are clear, precise, and in accordance with industry drafting standards, including proper line weights, annotations, and sheet organization.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to refine and adjust details as needed for code compliance and constructability.
• Provide AutoCAD (DWG) and/or Revit (RVT) files, as well as PDF documentation for review and approval.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from the architect, structural engineer, or permitting authority.
• Maintain efficient communication and timely delivery of required drawings within project deadlines.
