About the job
Hi everyone,
We run an internal CNC and conventional machine shop and need a SolidWorks drafter to create manufacturing-ready 2D drawings from our existing 3D designs. These drawings go straight to the shop floor, so our machinists must be able to make the parts from them without follow-up questions.
What we need from you:
Create fully dimensioned 2D drawings from our SolidWorks models (parts and assemblies).
Apply proper dimensioning and tolerancing, including basic GD&T.
Call out all machining features clearly: drilled holes, tapped holes (thread size, depth, and drill depth), radii, chamfers, counterbores, and countersinks.
Include the title block, material, finish, general tolerances, and notes needed for production.
Keep the drawings clean and easy to read, with logical views and sections.
Required skills:
Strong SolidWorks drawing experience.
Solid understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
Working knowledge of GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5 or ISO).
Knowledge of how machined parts are made, so you know what a machinist needs to see on the drawing.
Nice to have: experience working with machine shops or in a CNC environment.
To apply, please include:
Samples of previous machining drawings (if possible).
Your estimated turnaround time and rate per drawing.
We have ongoing work and are looking for a long-term collaborator, so quality and consistency are what matter most.
Thank you!
