About the job
Hello,
Please open the attached PDF first. It shows the board.
HI-GAIN is a networking and wireless equipment distributor in Beirut, Lebanon, in business since 1990.
We need an RF engineer to design our board.
Ideally, you also build and test the prototypes.
The board drawings in the PDF are not final.
Please design the board the way you think is best, as long as it meets the points below.
What the board does (main points only):
1) Transmit: shifts 5.15-7.15 GHz up to 8.15-10.15 GHz.
2) Receive: shifts 8.15-10.15 GHz back down to 5.15-7.15 GHz.
3) One fixed 3 GHz oscillator on the board, used in both directions.
4) Two RF chains, one per polarisation.
5) Input: one SMA per chain, connected by cable to a Wi-Fi radio.
6) Output: two printed probes on the board (no connector), into a feed you design.
7) Any channel width from 20 to 320 MHz.
8) No control wire: the board senses the radio's transmit signal by itself.
9) Output never above 25.0 dBm total per chain.
10) Receive noise figure 4.0 dB or better.
11) DC input 24-60 V.
12) A bare board (PCBA), fitted in our own housing, on our heatsink.
Delivered, owned by HI-GAIN:
1) Schematic and PCB layout.
2) Parts list with real part numbers.
3) Feed design.
4) Tune-up procedure.
5) Firmware, if any.
In your bid:
1) Past X-band board work (8.15-10.15 GHz or near), with photos or measured results.
2) The chips you would use.
3) Your fixed price for the design.
4) The time it takes.
