About the job
We are seeking an experienced CAD designer or mechanical engineer to develop 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for a reverse shoulder implant prototype.
We have an initial concept that can be shared for further development. We also welcome alternative proposals or existing design concepts that you legally own or are authorized to license or transfer. A completely new design from scratch is not required.
The goal is to obtain CAD data and drawings suitable for manufacturing a physical prototype for non-clinical engineering evaluation.
Scope:
- Review our concept or propose a suitable alternative.
- Agree on the components, dimensions, materials, and manufacturing methods.
- Create or adapt 3D component models and the assembly.
- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
- Check assembly fit and basic interference.
The anticipated components include the glenoid baseplate, glenosphere, fixation screws, humeral stem, humeral tray, and polyethylene insert. The final scope will be agreed upon before starting.
Required deliverables:
- Editable native CAD files, preferably SolidWorks
- STEP files for individual components and the complete assembly
- 2D manufacturing drawings in PDF and an agreed editable format
- Assembly drawing and bill of materials
- Notes on design assumptions and issues requiring further verification
If you already have a suitable design concept, please explain its le...

Please include in your proposal:
- Relevant experience, preferably with orthopedic implants
- Examples of work you are authorized to share
- Proposed approach and deliverables
- CAD software and version
- Estimated price and delivery time
- Number of revisions included
Confidential details will be shared after an NDA is agreed upon. Ownership or licensing terms must be agreed upon before work begins. Unauthorized third-party CAD data must not be used.
This request is primarily for design and CAD deliverables. Prototype manufacturing may be quoted separately as an optional service.
