About the job
Project Description:
I have designed and manufactured a compact, low-profile electric agricultural tow tractor for strawberry fields. The vehicle features a custom-built Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS). Since the tractor operates with a peak power of 42 HP, it falls under California OSHA (Cal/OSHA) Title 8 CCR § 3651 regulations, which mandate a certified ROPS for employer operations.
I am looking for a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) registered in the State of California to perform a digital Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to structurally certify this ROPS without the need for destructive physical testing.
What I Provide:
---Complete and accurate 3D CAD digital files of the tractor chassis and the ROPS structure exported in universal .STEP format.
---Exact material specifications.
---Total Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) metrics.
Scope of Work Required:
---Perform a structural FEA simulation based on standard industry roll-over protection criteria (such as SAE J2194, ASAE S383, or equivalent OSHA 1928.51 test loads) tailored to the vehicle’s specific mass.
---Verify that the structure withstands static/dynamic load requirements and ensures the operator's critical clearance zone (Deflection Limiting Volume) remains intact.
---Deliver a comprehensive engineering report detailing the calculations, boundary conditions, and stress/strain results.
---Mandatory: The final report must be officially signed and stamped with a valid California Professiona...
