Structural Engineering Request - Telecommunications Water Tower Concealment Structure
My name is Ryan Keogan with GodSpeed Engineering. I’m reaching out regarding a telecommunications concealment structure we are looking to engineer and fabricate.
I’ve attached a couple of rough reference drawings showing the general concept and geometry. Although the structure is designed to look like a water tower, it is not an actual water storage tank. The structure is strictly for telecommunications equipment and antenna concealment.
The concept consists of a galvanized structural steel support tower, including the tower legs, bracing, platforms/landings, and a large steel center tube/column running vertically through the structure. The upper enclosure surrounding the antennas would primarily utilize fiberglass/FRP components so the telecommunications equipment can operate through the concealment material.
We are looking for a structural engineer who can help take these rough drawings and develop a complete engineered design that can ultimately be fabricated and installed.
At this stage, we would first like to get a rough estimate of the engineering cost based on the attached concept drawings. We understand additional information may be required before a firm proposal can be provided, but an estimated range would help us with project planning and budgeting.
The anticipated engineering scope would include:
GodSpeed Engineering would be involved in the fabrication of the steel struc...

The anticipated engineering scope would include:
GodSpeed Engineering would be involved in the fabrication of the steel structure, so we would like to work closely with the engineer to make sure the final design is practical to manufacture, galvanize, transport, and assemble in the field.
The attached drawings are reference drawings only. We are not expecting the existing member sizes, connections, or dimensions to be treated as engineered values. We would like the general appearance and layout to be used as a starting point, with the structure properly engineered from there.
If this type of project is within your area of expertise, could you please provide us with a rough engineering cost range, estimated timeline, and a brief description of what would be included in your scope? Please also let us know what additional information you would need from us in order to prepare a formal proposal.
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
