About the job
I am developing a new nasal breathing product and have a physical nasal dilator sample that I would like to use as a functional reference.
I am looking for an experienced industrial/product designer or mechanical engineer with experience in consumer medical/health products, silicone products, CAD, reverse engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing.
The project will involve:
Analyzing and measuring the physical reference sample
Developing a new, independently designed geometry based on the desired functionality
Creating a detailed 3D CAD model (STEP/STL)
Creating 2D technical drawings with dimensions and tolerances
Recommending appropriate medical/skin-safe silicone material and hardness
Designing the product for silicone molding/manufacturing
Advising on tooling/mold requirements
Creating prototypes and making design revisions based on testing
Preparing final manufacturing files that can be sent to an OEM factory
Helping with the transition from prototype to mass production
The product is a small, reusable nasal dilator that sits inside the nostrils and mechanically helps improve nasal airflow. The reference product is only being used to understand the functionality and general requirements; I am looking for a differentiated design rather than an exact copy.
I will ultimately manufacture the product through an OEM factory and sell it under my own brand, including completely new branding and packaging.
Ideal candidate:
Industrial/product design e...

Ideal candidate:
Industrial/product design experience
Strong SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, or similar CAD skills
Experience with silicone/LSR or flexible molded products
Experience taking products from physical samples → CAD → prototype → tooling → mass production
Medical/healthcare product experience is a major advantage
Ability to communicate directly with manufacturers is a plus
Please provide 2–3 examples of similar products you have designed and taken toward manufacturing, particularly silicone, medical/health, wearable, or small consumer products.
I am looking for someone who can potentially stay involved through prototyping and manufacturing rather than only creating a CAD model.
