Why is my contest failing to get entries?

There are several things to keep in mind about participation rates when running your contest.

Please note the following suggestions:

  • Not prepaid: Prepaid contests receive 4-5X more entries than “payment-pending” work. Most of our top designers only work on prepaid contests to ensure a client is serious about the project.
  • Timeline: Please allow at least 7-days for designers to design submissions for your project. Freelance designers work on contests in their spare time, so contests that run for longer periods of time (i.e., 30-days) give all users a chance to participate. You have the option to extend your contest deadline, and if you have a rush project, we recommend our private project services for an ultra-fast turnaround.
  • Incomplete description: Make sure to include as much information as possible about the design you’d like to create. Contests with a complete project description have a lower participation rate.
  • Prize/budget: A reasonable budget is required for project success on Cad Crowd. See our “choosing a budget” article for more information on budgets.
  • Discussion: Please make sure to interact with the freelancers and answer their questions in the discussion area below your project description. This helps our freelancers create a product you love while avoiding a duplication of effort.
  • Feedback: Clients who participate in their contests by providing feedback and ranking design entries are far more likely to achieve the results they want compared to those who do not interact with the designers after the initial posting.

In summary, ensure that your description is clear and that your budget is reasonable for the work needed.
