Hello,
Here is a very rough draft of the design, it is basically the same as the sketch that you supplied. I just wanted to create a base and get some feedback from you to guide me to the perfect design. How detailed do you want the design? as far as fitting and mounting the internal electronics. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks,
Jake

What do you think about this design? The logo is on there just as an image for now, but I will make sure it is embossed on the final draft (tracing the logo is time consuming). The attached folder contains images of all of the sides.

Cadcrowd only allows us designers to communicate through their message system... So you can click on my username to send me a private message with the dimension details, sketches or any other information that may be useful.

Thanks, if you guys do end up choosing me, I am more than willing to work with you guys to come up with a design that fits everyone's needs.

My father, Rob Natzic, owns a machine shop/ mold shop in Lake Elsinore, CA. He can do 3D printing, tooling and depending on the size of the product he can also do injection molding.

Thanks Again,
Jake

Ya, you have crazy skill. Now we are deciding between yours and one other one. I like how you mimicked our radio look on the speaker grill, but others are saying it's not modern enough (or different enough) from our radios to look unique. I like it though, and we have other projects coming soon.
Last comment: do you have recommendation for mfr for this type of plastic housing?

Unfortunately, a lot of my projects are private so I am unable to show them to you. Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thanks!

the base is a little thick. probably will be 1.5" thick, 5" wide, 6" front to back plus the angled part

I actually forgot to add the microphone on this one, I will add it. Sorry for the typo and I will see if I can come up with a design that matches the style of your products.

yes that is better. so the microphone is flat. what if it also tilted and pointed at the user to pick up the voice direction better? does that make sense?
also it is PTT not PPT
Mon, 14 Jul 2014 20:05:37 +0000
sorry, it also needs the display to show what channel it's on

ya that is sweet! new thoughts are that the front 3 holes we will not need. it will now need only one for DC power in the back and one in the front for programming.
the only mod is that it would tilt or slant up so the user can see the interface easier.
the logo will be molded into the housing on the side (concave).
how else could it be improved???
