I updated all of the dimensions. I also champhered the ends of the base plate, I think it looks better but I attached the old file as well if you don't like it.

How do you like this support, it is 1/4" thick. I attached all of the .dxf files and I added slots in the base for the power supplies.

I simplified the design of the top a bit. I also added the mounting holes. Is this simplified enough? Any other changes you would like?

#3 Support by jnatzic
How does this look? I was thinking two of them back to back for each support. Will you be able to put a bend on each end for the tabs?

Thanks so much for your help with this project.

That should be the final files.

Surely you can show them off at school to get some credit for busting ass in your free time?

Take it easy.

Sweet, I forwarded the files to the waterjet company. As soon as they verify there's no issues and give me a quote we'll call this contest over with and get you paid.

Everything should be good to go minus the mounting holes, which I requested from the mfg. and will hopefully figure out before getting the unit later this month.

Thanks for all of your work, we'll have more projects soon and hope you'll take a crack at 'em.

Peace!

Nice design, the overhangs wont work though.

Here's how they'll mount: http://i.imgur.com/xmmsbFT.jpg

2 per mounting location should be fine.

Thanks again.

Hello,

I was able to get in touch with the waterjet company today and get some feedback on the design.

Acrylic most likely wont work because of cracking issues when they pierce the sheet.

Polycarbonate will work but doesn't come in the stylish finishes that acrylic does.

So I'm thinking it will probably be done with plate aluminum at around 1/16" thick and then anodized for the win.

I would also like to come up with a strut design that can be cut from flat aluminum bar by the waterjet. It didn't occur to me until the conversation that layers can be stacked and cut at the same time. So production costs for a flat strut would be a lot lower than turning them. Something 1/4"-1/2" thick should work, and wide enough for you to cut some design elements out of - digging the hex theme.

Beyond that all that's left is me getting one of the miners in hand to determine their mounting hole points and a couple slots cut from the lower tray to secure the power supplies to it with velcro wrap/zipties.

For the shop to get me a quote they'll need a .dxf version of the parts individually. They can shoot them out in about a week from payment, so sometime next month you'll see your creation for sale.

I'm excited.

Peace

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

I'm buying that design regardless of other submissions that may come in.

You nailed the future aspect PERFECTLY!

Dude, you're going places with your talents!
