Description:
Our products connect directly to solar panels or the grid and store energy to provide power at a later time. They can be interconnected to form a microgrid and share the power collected among multiple systems. Our current product starts at 15kW, weighs about 700lbs and can be expanded to a megawatt. We are developing a family of lower end systems starting at 2500 watts and weighing less than 100 lbs. We're looking for a consistent, modern, clean and attractive look that will bridge the range of products and be sufficiently visually striking to help with our entire company identity. We're looking for a clean functional design that's very simple. Think iPhone and Cuisinart. We also would like to minimize tooling costs and keep the cost of the packaging as low as possible. We have a mechanical design team so we're primarily looking for a conceptual design look rather than a detailed package. I've attached a couple images of our existing power stack and a possible design for the 2.5kW 100 lb unit. 605×330×445 mm (LWH). We are also looking to do a scaled up unit at 5kW that's also portable and a more fixed unit at 8kW that is more like the large system we have now. I've attached a sketch of how that one will assemble internally. Again, we're looking for someone to bring a consistent, recognizable and unique look to the product line while staying very simple and clean.
Wants:
Visual attractiveness of the design, consistent look across the products, simplicity
Don't Wants:
Not looking for a curvy Kia dashboard kind of look. More of an Apple and Swiss/German design kind of approach
Company Logo:
Yes
Software:
- SolidWorks (2014)
- Luxion KeyShot
- Trimble SketchUp (Google)

Thank you Reda
Congrats SirCuts
You have to remember Cuisinart and Apple are fairly expensive products, you can not incorporate stainless steel and chrome without increasing the cost of tooling and material, especially with rather large products. You will be spending more on the housing than the actual components.
Not much to go by but submitted a standard rack design with a functional vent logo...Universal, functional, and simple...
I see you have dimensions for the 100lb unit but what are the actual dimensions for the product you want modeled? Are they a typical rack mount dimension? (19" or 483mm hole to hole is typical rack mount).
As long as we can render the results with Keyshot. I don't know what 3D Studio can export.
Hi,
elecyr
Can i do this by the 3D studio Max-2015

I haven't heard of either. We need final results exportable to Step files or other files that can be read by Keyshot.
Can we use Pro E/ Creo ?
i think if i save the files in solidworks 2013 it can open in solidworks 2014 ,sir if you worried i can export it in another format maybe stl or igs thanks
Do you any color/finishing theme that you prefer?
One more thought. Altough the 2.5kW system will weigh about 180 lbs, The competitive products on the market using lead-acid batteries weigh clost to 800 lbs. We want the unit to look light and totable.
Sorry, I meant Keyshot. I do that all the time. Step file will be fine from whatever 3D package. We use Solidworks for design and Keyshot for rendering.
Please upload the logo that you intended to incoperate with the 3D model.
Is it this one?

Keynote is for presentation base on image.
I think what you meant is keyshot,..it manipulate 3D model.
Keyshot best format will be STEP format...it recognized all parts/layer from native creation build up.
I'm using Autodesk Inventor 2012 and Solidworks 2015
(F.Y.I:Other Software that can convert to STEP file, such as Rhinoceros,Sketch-up,CREO,Solidedge, and ETC)
Kindly confirm the output file that you required, so that other designer that are not solidworks user can participate.

We need it in a form that can be put into Keynote for rendering.
Hi sir, Is this only for visualization that you want? I am good with 3d realistic visualization but not good in the mechanical part or how it will be produced. Thanks
I believe so. I'm not an expert on converting Solidworks files. I believe that our copy is 2014. I'll try to get a better answer from our mechanical engineers.
can i use solidworks 2013 ?

Swiss Army Knife of Nail Grooming
I'm looking for a compact hand and nail manicuring device. Must include all key elements of hand and nail care:
MUST HAVE - dual-sided buffer/file, integrated cuticle remover lotion/oil storage, nail clippers, cuticle pusher tool, hand lotion storage, parts easily removable and replaceable (buffer/file), lotions/oil compartments easily refillable.
NICE TO HAVE - safety scissors, cuticle trimmer, nail strengthener lotion/pen storage
DIMENSIONS: at or less than (mm) 60LX55WX22H.
MATERIAL: Brushed stainless, carbon fiber, wood, or other eco-friendly and sturdy materials.
Ground Hole Maker
- Farm implement
- Device to be pulled behind a farm tractor, or hooked up to the 3-point arms of the tractor.
- Desired speed is 3-5 MPH.
- Make a 3" diameter hole, 18" deep in the ground every 6". (holes to be inline)
- Will need to have available space for a fluid tank to be mounted above the implement.
- Will need to be able to tow a trailer behind the unit.
Help Design Our Next-Generation Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
BRIEF
Adaptive Energy is a manufacturer of low-watt solid oxide fuel cell systems for backup and offgrid power. Our P250i system is typically mounted inside a cabinet and is seen by very few customers in person, though it’s promoted online and in distributor showrooms. With the upcoming launch of the fourth generation P250i, we have an opportunity for a minor update of physical branding elements.
OBJECTIVE
Create a look / feel for the Gen 4 P250i that meets agreed-upon criteria and maintains cost efficiencies. The specific output will be design elements for the physical product, with an opportunity for us to have two rounds of revisions.
KEY PROJECT DETAILS
1. Design Criteria
Design for the P250i should:
Look great on the website, in product spec sheets and on a distributor showroom floor with a look / feel that’s
Sleek
Innovative
Accessible
Age well and look as good on day 1 as on day 365 of year 10.
Reinforce how we want customers to feel about Adaptive Energy, which is that we provide peace of mind with our reliable, highly durable power products.
Distinguish our products from other popular backup sources such that the P250i is perceived as undoubtedly in a class by itself.
Convey key information:
Manufacturer: Adaptive Energy, LLC
Product line: Performer Series
Product name: P250i
Contact info
Be easily manufacturable at a scale of 500 units at a time (for example screen or pad printing would be acceptable, decals would not be acceptable).
Account for features on the system including:
On/Off
Fuel Reset
Fuel inlet
8-60V output indicator beside the main power leads
Not interfere with features such as:
Intake warnings (that is, the design can’t block intake warnings on the intakes)
2. Product Information
Dimensions: 13”H x 17”L x 7”W
The unit might shrink in width and height by half an inch.
Weight: 19 lbs
Operating Temps: -40 oC - 50 oC
Will share product photos.
3. Examples of Competitive Systems
What most of these systems have in common is that they are installed inside enclosures and are not viewed multiple times per day, week or month. In some cases, only a few people ever see the product and that’s only when there’s a problem and a maintainer has to visit the site to fix something.

Reverse Flow, Offset BBQ Smoker: That is actually visually appealing.
Reverse flow, offset BBQ smokers cook amazing barbecue. I am looking to start a small custom reverse flow bbq smoker fabricating company that prides itself on quality built reverse flow bbq's with the design and visual appeal that our industry lacks. 97% of smokers out there are made with all-black powder coated steel. With this business venture, I want to target the every day "backyard BBQ'er" and have these smokers sit on their back porch/deck. From the various company's out there who build smokers, there is very little color and trim details such as stainless steel, wood accents and painted powder coating. I'm looking to change that.
I'm looking for someone to create an initial design for our first prototype. From there, the plan is to create 3-4 more different sized reverse flow smokers with varying design finishes. Final goal would be to have 5 different sized reverse flow smokers to create a "product line" for us to build and sell.
