;s design is pretty much what you&
;ve described. I&
;m sure he can hinge the pin section to the bottom and create the "clam shell" look you are wanting.
;re going to have disappointed customers no matter how it looks, or how it&
;s packaged.
;t imagine someone cleaning up on the beach and carefully packaging their beach towel stakes away in some sort of compact packaging. I&
;m not in marketing, but I do know that nobody will care about how neatly packaged something is if it doesn&
;t work.
;m fascinated with all the very cool and creative entries so far (great job everyone!!). The posted concepts have evolved to more of an aesthetic rather than the functionality. If one of the major design criteria is to secure the corners of the towel to the surface of dry sand, a simple weight is the most logical. So "Advandes" concept is good if it&
;s weighted to at least 1/2 kilo but, this poses an issue if transporting excess weight (at least 2 kilos) in your beach bag. Now the "stake" concept will work very well only if its length is long enough (min 8-10") and driven into the sand substantially so, the length criteria you wish (like 4" or so), will not work properly unless the sand is moist or wet. Magnets are cool but you gotta have strong ones,...and micro gadgets may be compromised when nearby. Also you have an iron grain collection issue on the magnets after awhile of use. So for the compact size and ease of manufacturing that you&
;re after for your product, I suggest a weight type anchor rather than a stake and, if weight is and issue, go with a longer length stake to keep it simple.
