VW Crafter L3H2 based mobile Dyno Lab

This project presents a comprehensive 3D design and technical conversion package for a VW Crafter L3H2 (short wheelbase, low roof) into a fully functional Mobile Dyno Lab (Dynamometer Laboratory). Project Objective: The core challenge was to engineer a robust, ergonomic, and efficient custom interior that separates a high-tech operator workstation from the heavy-duty technical area. The design optimizes every millimeter of space for both machinery and personnel comfort within a commercial panel van footprint. Layout & Key Features 1. Operator Workstation (Front Cargo Area): Partition Bulkheads: Heavy-duty bulkhead separating the driver cabin from the operator area, and an internal acoustic/safety bulkhead separating the operator from the rear dyno bay. Work Desk: Custom fitted desk (1518 mm width) with integrated mounts for dual monitors, keyboard, and mouse. Overhead Console: Overhead rack for diagnostic displays, additional hardware, and document storage. Operator Seat: Single adjustable ergonomic chair mounted to the vehicle floor, positioned with optimized clearances (861.9 mm workspace depth, 318 mm headroom clearance (seated)). Storage & Safety: Integrated side shelving unit and designated mount for a fire extinguisher. 2. Technical Bay (Rear Cargo Area): Dynamometer Setup: Custom 3D model of a chassis dyno unit (1350 mm length x 1100 mm width) featuring a top-mounted cooling fan. External Display Mount: Articulating heavy-duty dual-arm bracket with a diagnostic display monitor, visible through the rear doors. Load & Space Management: Floor structure designed for heavy equipment mounting and dynamic load distribution within the wheel arches (1380 mm inner width). Technical Deliverables Included Photorealistic Renders: Overall internal cutaway views, side profiles, and rear access perspective. Dimensional Drawings: CAD layout drawings with key measurements (over 20 overall and functional dimensions included: wall-to-wall clearances, desk height, equipment footprint). 3D Models: Scaled 3D CAD assets of the VW Crafter base vehicle, dyno equipment, partition walls, and custom interior furniture.
