V6 Engine — Camshaft & Valve Train
Project Overview
Mechanical CAD modeling of a V6 engine camshaft and valve train developed in Autodesk Fusion as part of a larger engine assembly project.
The assembly includes the camshaft, rocker arms and valve springs, with mechanical relationships established to reproduce the operating motion of the valve train.
Technical Highlights
- Camshaft 3D modeling
- Rocker arm modeling
- Valve spring modeling
- Valve train assembly
- Mechanical relationships between components
- Assembly motion and animation
- Section and orthographic views
- Integration with the V6 engine assembly
Objective
The objective was to model and integrate the valve train into the V6 engine assembly while reproducing the mechanical interaction between the camshaft, rocker arms and valve springs.
The animation demonstrates the movement of the assembly and the relationship between the rotating camshaft and the reciprocating valve train components.
Software
Autodesk Fusion
Portfolio Focus
This project demonstrates mechanical CAD modeling, assembly integration and motion-based mechanical design within an automotive engine system.
The project focuses not only on individual component geometry, but also on the interaction between components in a functional mechanical assembly.
