Staubli Dobby Loom Cam – Reverse-Engineered 3D Replacement Parts

This portfolio project showcases the reverse engineering and 3D CAD modeling of precision cams for a Staubli dobby loom. The components were developed as functional replacement parts for an operational textile machine, where original spares were difficult to source and machine downtime was critical. The cam profiles and mounting features were carefully modeled to preserve the original dobby timing, motion accuracy, and durability required for continuous industrial operation. The final deliverables consisted of fully parametric, manufacturing-ready 3D CAD models suitable for CNC machining and long-term spare part reproduction. This project demonstrates hands-on experience with industrial textile machinery, reverse engineering of legacy components, and production-focused mechanical design.
