Sheet Metal Design & Machine Enclosures
Design and development of custom sheet-metal components, machine enclosures and welded assemblies for special-purpose machinery and mechanical engineering applications.
The work included the complete design process from integration into the machine assembly through detailed 3D CAD design to production-ready manufacturing drawings and flat patterns. Sheet-metal components were designed according to the available installation space, required interfaces and the functional requirements of the machine.
Particular attention was given to manufacturability, assembly access, maintenance and practical production requirements. This included the definition of bend geometry, cut-outs, mounting features, screw connections, welded joints and interfaces to surrounding mechanical components.
Complex sheet-metal parts and welded assemblies were developed with consideration of the complete manufacturing process, including laser-cut parts, bending operations, flat pattern development, welding and final assembly.
The design approach focuses not only on creating a functional CAD model, but on developing components that can be manufactured, assembled and serviced efficiently in a real production environment.
Scope of work:
• Sheet-metal design and machine enclosure development
• 3D CAD modeling of sheet-metal components and assemblies
• Integration into complete mechanical and machine assemblies
• Bent and welded sheet-metal components
• Complex sheet-metal geometries and transitions
• Flat pattern development for manufacturing
• Cut-outs, mounting features and mechanical interfaces
• Manufacturing and fabrication drawings
• Assembly drawings and technical documentation
• Design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
• Consideration of accessibility, maintenance and serviceability
• Optimization of components for practical production and assembly
The examples shown in this portfolio demonstrate practical sheet-metal design work for machinery, including individual sheet-metal parts, welded assemblies, machine enclosures and production documentation.
