Shaft Coupling

Every expert was once a beginner, and today I’m excited to share a small but meaningful step in my mechanical design journey! šŸš€ I recently practiced my CAD skills by creating a 3D model and this 2D technical drawing of a Shaft Coupling (attached as "Shaft Coupling.png"). For my friends outside of engineering, a shaft coupling is essentially a joint. It securely connects two rotating machines (like a motor and a pump) so they can spin together and transfer power smoothly. In this practice project, I focused on: • Creating a clean and precise 2D drawing from a 3D model. • Applying standard dimensions and a section view (A-A) to show the internal details. • Organizing the layout and title block neatly. As an undergraduate student who is just starting out, I know I still have a long way to go and a lot to learn from the seniors and experts in this industry. I am highly motivated to keep improving my attention to detail and design skills. To the experienced engineers and drafters out there: I would love to hear your feedback! Are there any best practices, tips, or standards I should pay closer attention to next time? Always open to learning and connecting with professionals in the field! šŸ¤
