This project showcases a comprehensive SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal design for a complex industrial electronic rack chassis. The geometry was strategically developed to minimize setup time on a CNC press brake.Key Engineering Features:Validated Sheet Metal Logic: Modeled with a uniform material thickness ($2$ mm) and consistent bend radii (R1) to ensure production consistency. Calculated K-Factors (set at $0.45$ for mild steel) provide an exact Flat Pattern, reducing fabrication trial-and-error.Complex Multi-Directional Bending: Successfully manages opposite-direction bends on adjacent flanges while preventing material tearing through optimized custom relief cuts (Obround and Rectangular profiles).Feature Optimization: Includes precision-located mounting holes, connector cutouts, and specialized slots designed to meet Design for Assembly (DFA) requirements. The 'Closed Corner' feature was utilized on main flanges for a rigid, gap-free fit before welding.Manufacturing Ready: Fully defined for production, including automated Bill of Materials (BOM) integration and a clean DXF export of the flat pattern view.
