Planetary gearbox 5:1 - 3D design and renders
This is my own design study, not a client project: a single-stage planetary gearbox for a servo motor. I wrote it as a parametric model in Python inside Blender, so every part is generated from its dimensions, and rendered it in Cycles as studio product shots.
The ring gear is fixed, the sun is the input and the planet carrier is the output, which gives a ratio of 5:1. The gears are true involutes, module 2: the sun has 12 teeth, the three planets 18 and the ring 48. I checked the planet phasing numerically for clearance at every mesh.
The assembly has 32 parts with a real bearing layout: 6005-2Z and 6007-2Z bearings on the output, needle roller cages and bronze thrust washers on the planets, an FKM oil seal, circlips and screws with modelled threads. It is a visual model: it has not been built or tested.
