Padeye Structural FEA for Marine Application

Structural design and finite element analysis of a marine padeye intended for installation on a vessel hull. The project included development of the padeye geometry, dimensional definition, structural modelling, and Static Structural FEA using ANSYS Mechanical. The padeye was designed with a 30 mm web plate, a cylindrical lug with 260 mm external diameter and 200 mm internal diameter, and a supporting plate for connection to the vessel hull. The analysis included: • 3D structural modelling • Definition of geometry and dimensions • Static Structural FEA • Finite element meshing • Total deformation analysis • Equivalent elastic strain analysis • Equivalent Von Mises stress analysis • Identification of critical stress regions • Engineering review of structural behaviour The project demonstrates practical experience in marine structural engineering, finite element analysis, stress assessment, and engineering documentation. Software: ANSYS Mechanical 2021 R2 Application: Marine / Ship Structure Analysis Type: Static Structural FEA
