ORBAI Spherical Drone – CAD Design & 3D Renders

A client approached me to design a complete SolidWorks CAD model for "ORBAI" — a spherical autonomous drone with an integrated camera system. The challenge was designing both a visually striking outer shell and a fully functional internal chassis that could house real electronics including a wide-angle camera lens, circuit boards, motor wheels, and mounting platforms. I designed the project in two major assemblies: the outer protective shell featuring the ORBAI branding, engraved circuit-board aesthetics, smooth panel segmentation, and a camera port opening; and the internal skeletal frame (green) with tiered horizontal mounting platforms (blue) to accommodate electronics, drive wheels, and sensor hardware — all engineered with real spatial and structural constraints in mind. Once the production model was complete, high-quality photorealistic renders were delivered showcasing the assembled drone, the isolated outer shell from multiple angles, and the internal chassis exposed to communicate the engineering depth of the design. Deliverables included: Full SolidWorks assembly (shell + internal frame), multi-angle studio renders, and an exploded internal view for technical reference.
