Monumental Clock IoT Retrofit

I designed and implemented the modernization of a musical monumental clock, adding electronic control, telemetry and a web interface to manage its operation. I developed C++ firmware on ESP32 and integrated position sensors, an encoder, a real-time clock, motor actuation and audio control. The system supervises the mechanism and coordinates movements, chimes and music playback through configurable schedules. The web interface displays operating status, manages schedules and profiles, runs simulations and supports diagnostic actions. It tracks position, temperature, available memory and execution times, detects power interruptions and includes connectivity recovery mechanisms. The project combines signal acquisition, event processing, Wi-Fi/TCP-IP communications, configuration persistence and visualization of operating information. My responsibilities covered system architecture, electrical and electronic integration, firmware, web interface, commissioning and field validation. An existing mechanical clock became a connected, configurable system that can be monitored from a browser. Portfolio date: July 2026.
