Mechanical Iris - Eight-Blade Aperture Assembly

An eight-blade desktop iris with a 70 mm nominal opening, layer-specific blades and a common control ring. Exploded and detail views explain how separate blade planes, pivot supports and relief contours address solid interference. The project includes editable FreeCAD geometry, assembly and component STEP files, drawing sheets and individual blade cutting profiles. This is a digital mechanism study with sampled clearance checks; operating force, backlash and physical tolerances require prototype testing.
