Mechanical design (Solid works)

I am a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in product development, plastic part design, and manufacturing-oriented engineering. My experience includes transforming early-stage concepts, sketches, and functional requirements into fully engineered 3D CAD models ready for prototyping and production. Over the years, I have worked on mechanical design projects involving complex assemblies, precision plastic components, snap-fit mechanisms, and design-for-manufacturing optimization. During my engineering training and industry internships, I gained hands-on experience developing products from concept through prototype validation, with a strong focus on functionality, durability, ease of assembly, and cost-effective manufacturing. For your medical sample tool project, I can support the complete development process—from refining the initial concept and improving usability to creating detailed 3D CAD models in SolidWorks. I have experience designing reliable snap-fit and interlocking systems that balance structural strength with repeated use while maintaining manufacturability. My approach includes careful consideration of material behavior, wall thickness optimization, draft angles, tolerance management, and other critical Design for Injection Molding (DFM) requirements. A major advantage I bring is designing products that work efficiently at both stages of development: rapid prototyping through 3D printing and future transition to injection molding production. This reduces redesign costs later and helps accelerate the path toward manufacturing. My engineering workflow includes concept refinement, 3D modeling, assembly design, mechanical validation, manufacturing analysis, and preparation of prototype-ready engineering files. I am committed to delivering designs that are not only visually refined but also mechanically robust, user-friendly, and production-ready. I understand the level of precision, reliability, and attention to detail expected in medical and laboratory-related products. My goal is to provide a practical engineering solution that meets functional requirements while ensuring scalability for future manufacturing. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my mechanical design expertise to bring your medical sample tool from concept to a successful functional prototype and production-ready design.
