KSU Solar House

The KSU solar house is a model house designed to be fully powered by a photovoltaic (PV) system. The house was constructed to participate in the 2018 edition of the Solar Decathlon Middle East (SDME) competition, which was held in Dubai in December 2018. The objective of this project is to utilize the installed capability of the PV system in a cost-efficient manner. I manufactured the first prototype scaled down of the house using 3d printer, however the bed size of the machines 3d printers in our center were smaller, therefore I tried to split the house into many parts and 3d print each one separately, finally I used glue to assembly all parts. In the first 3d printed prototype the Stainless Steel cover of the house has been cut using Waterjet cutting machine. The second prototype I used Palsa wood cutting the profile using Laser engraving machine, and all parts were painted using Spray paint. For the windows I used Acrylic which has been cut using laser engraving machine.
