Interactive 3D instruction: a wheeled case unfolds into a workstation
An interactive 3D instruction that opens in a web browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install. A wheeled flight case unfolds into an operator workstation in six steps, from closed latches to switched-on monitors.
Each step plays as a short animation with a line of explanation. You can go forward and back, replay a step or jump to any step. The model turns and zooms with a mouse or a finger, and 8 points on it open notes about the parts, from the monitors on a telescopic column to the power unit. One tap folds everything back into the transport state, and an X-ray mode shows what is inside.
I built the model and the page from scratch in three.js. It runs at 60 fps on an ordinary laptop and can be embedded in any website. This is my own concept: the model and its specs are fictional.
