GX-800 Three-Axis Cartesian Gantry | SOLIDWORKS Concept

Independent mechanical design concept by peep hong, modeled in SOLIDWORKS 2023. The GX-800 is an XYZ Cartesian gantry with 800 × 800 × 500 mm travel. Its mechanical layout includes an X-axis belt drive, twin Y-axis belts driven by a common shaft, and a Z-axis lead-screw module with a tool mounting flange. Project scope: • 73 unique parts, 11 assembly files and 559 part occurrences. • Adjustable travel limits on all three axes. • General assembly and tool interface drawings. • Native SOLIDWORKS files, STEP/DXF exports and a bill of materials. • 21 dimensional checks and a 13.4-second motion demonstration based on 142 solved CAD poses. Verification: The packaged assembly reopened and rebuilt without mate errors across 1,038 mates. Interference checks detected no collisions at 27 sampled XYZ positions. This is a concept study. No FEA, payload, accuracy or physical testing was performed. Z-axis screw rotation is not kinematically coupled to vertical travel. Designed by peep hong.
