Gasketed Heat Exchanger

A gasketed heat exchanger is a type of plate heat exchanger that moves thermal energy between two fluids without mixing them. It is made up of a series of corrugated metal plates that are sealed with elastomeric gaskets. These plates direct the fluids through channels that switch back and forth. The gasketed design makes it easy to take apart for cleaning, maintenance, and changing the capacity by adding or taking away plates. It is often used in HVAC, industrial processes, and power systems because it is small, flexible, and can transfer heat very well.
