Forgotten Knowledge

The Forgotten Knowledge Library is located in the Lut Desert, Iran. The project redefines the conventional library typology by using the bookshelf itself as the primary load-bearing structure. Rather than a box filled with shelves, the gridded bookshelves are arranged in repetition to create a structural network — a web of linear grids within which programmed spaces are suspended, like objects frozen in time. Each space holds a program based on its position within the structural web, while open roof platforms serve as reading areas open to the desert sky.
