ESP32 Custom Enclosure – Functional CAD Design for 3D Printing
Custom ESP32 enclosure designed in Fusion 360 and manufactured using FDM 3D printing.
The enclosure was developed around the actual dimensions of the ESP32 development board, with the goal of creating a compact and practical housing for electronics prototyping.
The design includes internal PCB mounting features, alignment and positioning elements, access to the USB connector, ventilation openings, and a two-part enclosure designed for assembly after printing.
The project was taken from CAD design to a physical prototype, allowing the dimensions, PCB fit, connector accessibility, and assembly to be verified with the real electronic hardware.
Key aspects:
Fusion 360 CAD modeling
Electronics enclosure design
ESP32 PCB integration
Internal mounting and positioning features
USB connector access
Ventilation openings
Two-part enclosure design
Dimensional fit and tolerances
Design for FDM 3D printing
Physical prototype and assembly validation
This project demonstrates the complete workflow from electronic component measurements and mechanical CAD design to a functional 3D-printed enclosure.
