Erosion Lamp: Perforated Alabaster Shell for 5-Axis Milling

Table lamp, H 460 mm, carved from one block of alabaster. The 9 mm shell is lofted through 21 elliptical stations; its 66 perforations are drawn on the unrolled skin from a warped gyroid field, mapped back onto both faces and trimmed with ruled walls into one closed solid. Deliverables: STEP and 3DM for 5-axis milling, 2 A3 drawings (stations; unrolled skin with every hole), brass base and glass core, day and night renders. Self-initiated study.
