Engine Block Reverse Engineering and CAD Reconstruction
This project involved reverse engineering and reconstruction of a complex engine block.
The work required analysis of the existing geometry, identification of functional and manufacturing features, and restoration of the intended engineering structure.
Particular attention was given to:
• Machined reference surfaces
• Cylindrical bores and mounting interfaces
• Casting-related geometry
• Hole patterns and relative positioning
• Functional relationships between major features
• Geometry verification and model consistency
• Preparation of an editable production-oriented CAD model
The objective was not to create only a visually similar surface model, but to reconstruct technically meaningful geometry suitable for further engineering work, dimensional verification, manufacturing analysis, and documentation.
The final result was prepared as an editable CAD model with STEP-compatible geometry.
