This project represents a conceptual disc brake design developed in 2017 as part of a design contest. The objective was to understand the fundamentals of braking systems, with a strong focus on mechanical design, geometry, and manufacturability rather than simulation or testing.
The entire model was designed using CATIA, which enabled precise control over dimensions, constraints, and assembly relationships. Through this project, I strengthened my understanding of:
Disc brake components and their functional relationships
Design intent and parametric modeling
Practical considerations in product and mechanical design
Although this was a concept-level design, the project helped build a solid foundation in product design methodology and reinforced the importance of accuracy, structure, and clarity in CAD modeling. This work reflects my early hands-on experience in mechanical design and my interest in translating engineering concepts into real-world products.
